It was in Sadako Totsuka's book 'Basic Stitches' that I found this stitch, perfect for flower petals.
Work it like this:
Come out of the fabric,
the first came out. Take the needle
out at the height of the petal.
bullion petal to be wide.
triangular loop.
in place.
stitch.
Just imagine what you can put inside the petal's void! A bead, a French Knot, a Lazy Daisy, a Seed Stitch, a Double Seed Stitch, a Fly Stitch... just about any small individual stitch would add variation.

I have a hard time getting bullion stitches to look pretty. I've not seen this version of the bullion before. I'll look forward to seeing your homework!
