WIPW - Circles Challenge Completed

I have been busy stitching and have some good results to show.

Circles Challenge
is complete.
I finished all the embellished seams, some of the circles are spilling out onto the borders.

To cover up the joint of the cream and gold braid I made a Dorset Button. I just love making these buttons.

Finally I constructed the bag.

I used a beautiful print I bought in the UK last year for the back.

Like the other challenges (Mola 2018 and Cathedral Windows 2019) this bag will double as a cushion.

Tvistsöm Cushion
Now working on 26th column.

Freeform Embroidery
Alternating Magic Split Stitch and E Stitch found their way into the design.

Every project is in the same colour range - you must be sick of teal!

WIPW - Holiday Stitching

It is nice to have a holiday - it means there is time to stitch!

Work In Progress Wednesday today includes the following additions to my work:

Circles Challenge
I had promised myself to use the Mountmellick Stitch for this piece and worked a circle in Perle 8

These woven stitches were added:
Closed and Open Base Needlewomen Picots, Woven Zig-Zag Stitch and Woven Detached Chain Stitch.

WIPW - Recent SSS Stitches

For this Work In Wednesday Progress report I can show you some recent stitches from Sunday Stitch School on

Freeform Embroidery
They are: Woven Long Tail Chain, French Knotted Lazy Daisy and Chained Sheaf Stitch

Circles Challenge
Here I couched down a stiff 'shoe lace'.
I had intended to do some Mountmellick embroidery too, but found no time.

WIPW - Couched Braid Circle

So what progress have I to report for Work In Progress Wednesday? Well, not so much, but I have made some on the

Circles Challenge
There are three more circles, one of them is a braid that I couched down.
The others are Backstitched Chain and Buttonhole.

Freeform Embroidery
I am sticking to the circle shape for the Freeform Embroidery, too. The progress: Mille Fleur Stitch, Rosette Stitch Rose and Petal Stitch.

Tvistsöm Cushion
Only a few stitches have been added here.

WIPW - The First Circles

There are two kinds of circles on Work In Progress Wednesday today. The first is of course

Circles Challenge
where I have now started embroidery along the curved seams. This will emphasise the circles that the joined blocks created.

The other kind of circles are on the
Freeform Embroidery
where some round forms have grown. They are made up of Reversed Buttonhole Circles and Whipped Long Tail Chain Stitch.

Tvistsöm Cushion
is totally free from circles, but has four (and 1/3) new straight columns.

WIPW - Reinforcing Embroidery

It is time for another Work In Progress Wednesday report.

Tvistsöm Cushion
Last week I had made four columns of Vertical  Tvistsöm. Since then I have made four more, so eight  columns in total.

Circles Challenge
The twenty blocks have been assembled with Ladder Stitch,

and the seams have been reinforced with Herringbone Stitch.
Next step will be to indicate the circles with embroidery.

Freeform Embroidery
I added some individual stitches and combination of stitches with round features:
Algerian Eye, Raised Cross Stitch Flower, Detached Chain Flower, Whipped Wheel and Woven Wheel.

WIPW - Getting on Well

I think I have got on well this week as the following Work In Progress Wednesday report shows.

Tvistsöm Cushion (ex-Glowing Stars)
After having ripped out all the stitches on the Glowing Stars project I started stitching a design of blocks of colour.

There will even be a bit of gold in it!

Hopefully this cushion will go well with the quilt I made a couple of years ago - Trinity Green.

Circles Challenge
I have now joined the blocks into rows with ladder stitch.

Next I will join the rows together and start on the embroidery.

Freeform Embroidery
Three more X-type stitches have been added:
Moss Stitch
Gate Stitch and
Zig-zag Stitch
