Mandala

On the Mandala project, I have only done some planning. 

I will adorn the round discs in the 'hub' of the Mandala 

with Punchinella, or Sequin Waste. (Fancy) stitching will hold it in place...

Hexablooms

So another ten flowers were made. The total is now 70.

Kumihimo Braiding

On the braid I made recently for my reading glasses, I had left a tassel of thread ends on each side. I thought they looked nice, reminding me of bicycle handles or hippie style hair braids.

However, the stray threads got trapped in the hinges of the eyeglasses and turned out to be a bother.

Therefore I winded the ends up like this. I now look like a sober and proper librarian!

Sunday Stitch School Stitch Sampler

Two more stitches were added, #296 Rhodes Rectangle and #297 Raised Cup with Twisted Chain.

This sampler is now so crowded that after adding the remaining three stitches (#298 - #300) I will fill in a few gaps and empty spots. Then I will call it a day and start the construction into either a wallhanging or a cushion... Watch this space.

WIPW - Cropping

There are several progresses to report in today's Work In Progress Wednesday report.

Mandala

I re-stitched the Buttonhole edge of the first heart, then stitched the other three appliqued hearts with the same Buttonhole edge.

Next I will work on the circle in the centre.

Kumihimo Braiding

I completed the Kumihimo braid and attached it to my reading (stitching) glasses.

 I kept the tassels on. They reminded me of the tassels on girls' bicycle handles in the 70's. If I feel they are in the way, I will cover them up.

Birthday Card

I wanted to make another birthday card. Just like last time I used felt to make a flower, but the background fabric was a scrap of cotton with heat transfer foil on it.

Cropping

To beat the heat of Tokyo, I cropped a pair of summer trousers. What to do with the remnants? Well, Hexablooms of course!

Hexablooms

I cut lots of new squares of fabric, including the part that was left after cropping the trousers, see above. I then assembled ten new hexablooms.

In total, I now have 60 hexagon flowers.
