Friday Revision Homework - Stitches: 361 - 365

This time Sunbonnet Sue is engaged in a daily activity she shares with everyone in the world - that of waiting. 

She has popped into a café and is sipping her drink while watching the hands of the clock on the wall. 

Who or what is she waiting for? Is the 'who' or the 'what' 5 minutes late? It is already 3.05 pm.

It was fun to use the various stitches: 

#365 Link Powdering Stitch made a nice leopard print for her T-shirt, 

#362 Roza's Ladder Stitch turned out to be great for both the tweed skirt and the cut glass vase,

#363 Torocko Stitch was just right for a checked bag

#364 Kashimiri Ball Stitch was the obvious choice for the clock and also for the flowers on the table

finally #361 Vertical Herringbone just had to be the decoration of the aluminium table.

Other stitches used are, Stem Stitch for the body outlines, chair, hair, shoes and scarf.

I used Straight Stitch for the glasses and Backstitched Chain Stitch for the bag's handle.

Sunday Stitch School - Revision: Stitches 361 - 365

It's time to review five stitches, and for homework, make another Sunbonnet Sue Sampler.

361 Vertical Herringbone Stitch

These stitches do look like individual, detached stitches, but they are made in a continuous line.

362 Roza's Ladder Stitch

This stitch is useful for quickly covering a larger area. 

363 Torocko Stitch

I think this is a beautiful trellis filling.

364 Kashmiri Ball Stitch

Here is an impressive stitch that is actually really easy.

365 Link Powdering Stitch

When you fill an area with Detached Chain Stitch, aka Lazy Daisy Stitch, the result is called Link Powdering Stitch.

Homework:

Let Sunobnnet Sue, without the help of Mr AI, make a nice sampler of the stitches.

Friday Homework for Lesson 362 Roza's Ladder Stitch

Roza's Ladder Stitch was fun to work with. Be aware, though, that you need to pay attention to how much you pull the thread to control the tension. Or each 'twiggly person' (the twisted part of the stitch) won't stand straight up.

The perfect grid is a great help to make the stitches behave and sit evenly.

This was done without waste canvas, and I had to eyeball the stitches.

Red Kimono Silk Scribble Cloth

For some reason, it was hard to stitch on the red silk. I wonder why the silk suddenly felt so hard and stiff...

As you can see, the stitches are not particularly straight or even.

Sunday Stitch School - Lesson 362: Roza's Ladder Stitch

 I bet this stitch has an official name, but it is not mentioned in the YouTube video where I found it. The YouTube video channel is RozaBird. 

Don't you think the stitch resembles the kind of rope ladder often used in outdoor obstacle activity parks?  I thought so, and I will thus call it Roza's Ladder Stitch until I learn otherwise. Please help me out - if you know the stitch's real name, let me know in the comments below.

In a way, the stitch is similar to Bonnet Stitch..., but this is double...
