WIPW - Puffy? Stony?

Is there any progress of work on this Wednesday for the WIPW, Work In Progress Wednesday?
Yes, here it is:

Trinity Green
270 new triangles. Total count is 4.050.

Fabric in Focus
Previously I have highlighted some designers, namely Laura Ashley, William Morris, and my friend Åsa Wettre. You do remember Åsa, don't you, with her waffle heart and bird designs? When she kindly gave me pieces from her stash I found among them some bits of fabric by another designer, Kaffe Fassett. His prints are readily available at quilt show stalls, but are far too expensive for my budget.
Anyway, this week I cut up these prints:

HC Quilt
I have been quilting the stone blocks in the foundation of the castle. Don't they look 'puffy and stony' at the same time?
Instead of the traditional Quilting (Running) Stitch I have used Straight and Back Stitch.

WIPW - Do You Know Which Laura Ashley?

Work In Progress Wednesday for this week:

Trinity Green
The rotary cutter and the sewing machine have been busy with triangles. There are 318 new additions, so the total now stands at 3510 triangles.
My box is getting tightly packed with paper strips.

The Japanese are very fond of well-known brands, one of them is Laura Ashley. There are several shops where you can buy LA's clothes, bags, soft furnishings and interior decorations. At one time, in the 1980's they sold small patchwork packs of cut up fabric. The first quilt I made after my arrival here in Japan was with such packs.
Every stitch is sewn by hand and I treasure this quilt for all the memories it holds. It also inspired me to buy more Laura Ashley fabric, I had this print in several colourways:

A long time ago I made two cushion covers, one is for a huge 'sack armchair' and the other a neck cushion, which is really good for reading in bed.

I had a fair bit of light green left, cut it up and have been adding a sprinkling of Laura Ashley magic to my paper strips.
Now the question is, what is this pattern called? I have searched online but found no answer. Can you help?

HC quilt
I worked mainly on the branches of the cherry tree.

WIPW - Marine Day helps my progress

This week on Work In Progress Wednesday I can show you some good progress. Although I have as per usual been busy with many things, Monday was a national holiday in Japan - Marine Day (海の日).

A Bank Holiday usually means  fewer chores in our  household and as I had no opportunity to go to the sea side, I spent the day at home with my Elna sewing machine, needle and thread. So my progress is quite good.

Trinity Green

Ten paper slips got the 'Elna treatment' and I have 270 new triangles. The total number of green triangles is now 2862.
There is an awful lot of orange in this quilt!!!

Fabric in Focus

In the old days patchwork quilts were often made from used clothes. Most garments were made from cotton, linen or wool, and suitable for quilts. Today we wear T-shirts, jeans with stretch and clothes made from synthetic or mixed fibers. It is far more difficult to incorporate our clothes in a quilt unless you make a point of using denim, fleece or nylon.
I had a lovely shirt made of mint green corduroy. It was soft and 'friendly', and worn until the elbows and cuffs lost their nape. Instead of discarding the shirt I salvaged the parts that were still in good condition. The fabric just HAD to be added to Trinity Green, although it is an odd kind of fabric.

This is what part of the quilt now looks like from the back.

If you had a Marine Day would you go to the beach or stay home and quilt?

WIPW - What Does It Stand For?

WIPW, Work In Progress Wednesday, or should I say What Insignificant Progress Wednesday!
Well not really insignificant, but I made NO progress on the TASTy sampler (as I reported yesterday)

and only a little progress on the
HC quilt

I quilted a bit in an area where the grey crayon met the blue crayon.

Trinity Green
This is where the progress was made. Another 200 triangles found their way onto the paper strips. The total numer of triangles is 2187

Fabric in Focus

I wouldn't say I am a flashy person, but I do like fabric with metallic glitter.
This is a Christmas print.
Or would you call it star dust?
Actually in this strip you can see four triangels with gold print, if you look closely.

I hope you have had a shiny, bright and productive week.

WIPW - A good week

It has been a good week on the needle and thread front. Here is my Work In Progress Report.

Trinity Green
I've stitched 366 of triangles on the paper strips. Total count of triangles is now 1107.

HC
I ironed freezer paper to the back of the white fabric I am going to use for the HC quilt. This will keep it stable while I transfer the design.
I pinned the fabric to the sketch and placed it on the light box. After I had turned on the light I was ready to trace the design onto the fabric. You can see a tiny bit of the drawing there.

TASTy Tuesday, second helpings
This new project will be reported on on Tuesdays, but I am adding it here, today, just to show one more piece of progress. 7 stitches out of 140, that means 133 to go!
Now why did I choose green???
The Lazy Daisy Stitches in the last row are in turquoise so I'll continue in that shade, then turn to blue, I think...
