Happy New Year! May 2018 be a creative and productive year.
The first Work In Progress Wednesday report of the year shows that a lot of work was done during the new year holiday.
Mola
Most of the work was put into the right hand side.
Mola - Snippets of Interest
There is a great interest in Molas, and visitors to the San Blas archipelago can buy various items, cushions, pouches, spectacle cases, pot holders... these things are made for the tourist industry. 'Antique' or second hand Mola panels are also sold. The panels have been removed from the blouses as the Cuna Indians don't want tourists, or non Cunans, to wear their folk costumes.

Happy New Year!
Quite a good progress during the holiday season. The mola is growing beautifully. Very attractive piece.
Chitra
It’s looking very pretty Carin!
Wishing you a Very Happy and Healthy New Year!
Hugs,
Barbara xx
Thank you.
I hope the new year has started well for you.
Thank you Barbara
Wishing you a year blessed with all things creative.
Thank you.
It has grown better the more holes I have cut up. I have learned that Mola is not MY thing but am glad I gave it a try.
Now for the final spurt....
Looks wonderful, I especially like the fabrics you have used. Bright and colourful.
It looks wonderful!
Well, I finished the binding and label on my I-spy last night. The Mola is now calling but it isn't telling me what it wants added or where.
The good thing about Mola is that you can use up very tiny scraps of fabric for the small opening you make in the top fabric.
The ore colours, and the more holes, the better it looks, I think.
Fast work on your I-spy quilt. You will finish your Mola well in time, and I am sure it will tell you what it wants you do to to it! Have fun!
Happy New Year - that looks like a good, cheerful, start to the year!
WOW! Absolutely beautiful work.
You have been busy, it's looking great.
Mola needs a lot of vibrant colours to come to light, so the more you work the better it looks, I think.
Thank you. You would not say WOW if you looked closely at the stitching, though!
Over the holidays I had time tos sit still for longer stretches of time and I am pleased to see this project nearing its end.
You've got a lot done on the right. The color is nicely balanced too.
Good start for the new year Queenie.
happy new year! Such a lovely colourful project. What is it going to used for when it is finished?
Thank you. The green and blue fabrics I used for the top left and right areas are shaded so there is a natural variety of tones.
Happy New Year to you, too.
It was ment to be a bag, but I will make it into a cushion cover instead.
Carin, your Mola is getting really nice !!! Great job :))
Have a lovely afternoon,
Isa
Thank you. Iv'e been busy all day, and now finally I can sit down and thread the needle.
Your mola is almost finished! Such a sparkling of color! It is amazing!
Now I am adding more colour - I'm touching up the design with some embroidery.
Wow, that's lots of progress! Looks great!
This makes me think of a Spring garden, bursting with colourful flowers. I thought it was complete but -after your comment about a final spurt- noticed a few lines at the base ..and a space to the left of the tacking?
Love it all.
There are a number of places that needs a little hole or a larger one. Then I will add embroidery here and there.
