This was a fun and unusual stitch. It does take some time, though.
Your samples show the different possibilities with the fringed button hole stitch. Using different thicknesses and weight of thread changes the look.I think it could be used for doll hair or fringe on a jacket or.......

The good ones always are time consuming, aren't they!
All great examples of various threads. I found the fine wool fiddly and will test other threads this week. ..and yes it was fun.
