Friday Homework for Lesson 249: Fly Stitch Rose

Real live roses are in full bloom in Tokyo right now, so this is the perfect time to show a set of ribbon roses, too.

Variegated ribbons are especially nice.

The blue roses are made with embroidery ribbon but for the brown rose I used an ordinary ribbon from a box of pralines. I had to make a hole in the fabric with a stiletto to be able to pull the stiff and thick ribbon through. So remember, uses ribbon embroidery ribbons only!

Our roses won't be blooming for quite a while. I wish I could grow them. Your silk roses are stunning.
