Sunday Stitch School - Lesson 184: Herringbone Ladder Stitch

Welcome to Sunday Stitch School where we have another lesson and a new stitch for you. It is called Herringbone Ladder Stitch and is a filling stitch. Like so many other great stitches it comes from Sarah's Hand Embroidery Tutorials, see her instructions here.

Make two lines of staggered Back Stitch



Change to a contrasting thread.
Then just follow the pictures.








Homework:
The usual three samplers.

Those stars are fabulous! I wonder if it could be done on regular fabric.
