This must be a great stitch for small children. It is so easy.
I had no problem using some fancy and unusual threads, such as you can see in the
Teal Wool Tailoring Scribble Cloth
picture. They only need to go through the fabric twice, at the beginning and end of the winding around the spokes of the cross.

You make that look so easy. I'm sure I would end up with a big bulky pile of rounds ... or they would catch on something and pull out a crazy loop.
