Sunday Stitch School - Lesson 237: Roll Straight Stitch

I don't know if anyone of you remembers #145 Roll Chain Stitch, but today we are getting acquainted with its sister - Roll Straight Stitch. I learned it from the same source, Miharu. Click on the link and the Japanese website will show you photos of how to work the stitches.

Although the name is Roll Straight Stitch, I think Detached Roll Stitch might be more appropriate, but I will keep the original name.

Here are my photo instructions:

Wrap the thread around the needle.

Tighten the wraps and keep them
fast under your thumb.

Pull the needle through the wraps.

Tighten the thread until you have a little 'shrimp'.

Anchor.

A headless shrimp or a baby beetle larvae?

Add here.

Maybe a curl of lamb's fleece, if you felt like doing lots of them?

If It's pink thread, It's similar to SAKURA shrimp that I can catch locally.

I agree, detached roll stitch is a better name.
