Sunday Stitch School - Lesson 231: Rhodes Heart Stitch

I like the various Rhodes stitches and have fallen in love with the Heart. I think it will be a useful stitch for Christmas so let's make it this week's stitch, well ahead of the holidays.

There are many diagrams online, here is one at Needlework-tips-techniques.

In my own photo instructions I have changed the stitch order to save thread:









And there you have it!

It looks extra festive in red, don't you think?

A nice Rhodes variation.

That's very effective. One thing I would say, though - some threads just have to be worked the less economical way because otherwise the stitch goes a bit squiffy. As always, play with them a bit..
