Don't you think it resembles Palestrina Stitch? I do, but it is worked in a totally different way. As long as you use a hoop and stretch the fabric it is an easy and fast stitch. I think it will be a favourite of mine.

The knotty look does look like Palestrina. It's a very pretty stitch.
