Here the three versions can be seen. Don't you think they look different? The vertical (pink) has much more of a striped look than the other two.

They all look different and they all look great.
With stitching, there are three things you can play with to alter the look: the angle, the spacing, and the scale of the thread. You have a perfect demonstration of the effect of angle variations here!
Wonderful samples. They look like neat knitting and each angle gives a completely different look.
