Let's move on to other quilts from the contest.
Here are some of the Group quilts:
Group quilts are always interesting to study. How did the group make them? Did each member work one block, and after that, were the blocks joined together? Did the participants manage to make the same style blocks or different ones? Were they able to join the blocks together without any problems?
Or did they meet regularly to work on a large quilt, in the quilting bee style?
The first quilt was obviously worked by individual members.
A seasonal stained glass window quilt by Noriko Hasegawa *長谷川徳子 and her 16 (15?) friends.
The seven members of "Amigo" certainly have green fingers and made these irises bloom. The quilters must have worked on the large quilt at the same time, maybe round a large quilting frame?
"We Love Osaka Club" and its 16 members made these floral hearts. The placement of the flowers and the fabric chosen differ but the basic design is the same.
A 12-member group by the name of "Quilter Who Loves Home" made this seasonal quilt.
Aiko Miyata*宮田アイ子 and her 14 friends call their beautiful quilt Venice Lamp Shop. Here you can see an example of Stained Glass quilting with bias tape.
The following two quilts were made by Juniors:
The animals are so cute!
Chiku Chiku Safari Park by a group called "Chiku Chiku Club Cuddly Brown".
Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is famous for its spectacular show.
I guess Kouta Terao *寺尾恒太 went
to see it and this is a memory of his day there.
He has also embroidered many words like HOPE, FAMILY, CHANCE, CHALLENGE, FREE, BELIEVE, DO IT onto the quilt.
Now we come to Hawaiian quilts:
I'm not surprised that Mari Tanaka *田中万里 won a rosette for her stunning quilt.
Yuko Ooga Baldwin*オオガボールドウィン優子
The next set of quilt I will show are not part of the contest.
They are Asian Quilts, mainly from South Korea and China:
(Korea) Kim Sunhi *キム スンヒ treats us to a view of Nansan Mountain Seen From Bukchon.
This charming Chinese quilt was fantastic.
I can not decipher the name of the quilter, unfortunately.
Pink Moon by Korean キム スンジュン*Kim Sunjun.
To be continued...
Look at the unusual prairie point edge, as well as the complex quilting too!
Marvel at the fine details and sharp points.

Several of the group quilts look familiar, maybe I have seen them at another show. The tiny points on the last one are just amazing!
