The larger the grid the easier this stitch it. On a finer scale, one might miss a hole just because it is difficult to see between the stacked stitches.
I also scaled down the design to make smaller stars. They are neat, easy to do and fast as well.

I like the stitch on the aida cloth best. I like orderly stitches.
It's a lovely, characterful stitch!
That stitch would look good with a metallic thread.
