Friday Homework for Lesson 224: Guilloche Stitch

The Guilloche Stitch is much easier than one would think at first sight. The combination of these very simple and well-known stitches makes a nice design. On Aida or other kinds of fabric with a clear grid, it is easy to make this border stitch look even and neat.

By the way, here is a tip for making the Satin stitches high enough to be threaded easily - stitch over a thick needle and you get a 'tunnel'.

Fun addition, I like the Guilloche Stitch, it makes a fancy border.
And in your previous post your canvas stitches are super beautiful and the pillow project is amazing with the fabulous gold added. Thanks for sharing.

I like that border effect, and can think of some ways it might be useful in a quilt.

It's a good one to play with different thread thicknesses as well..
