WIPW - Building up Froth on the Guinness

Work In Progress Wednesday, yes there has been progress on

Crazy for Crazy

where the pieces were assembled into a block.
Then the tan embellishments began frothing all over the place.

I usually like to add the beads last, but some stitches are beaded stitches and had to be worked before the remaining embroidery and ornaments can be put in.
The piece on the right with machine embroidery is the same as that on the ruby red block, if you remember. Here I used the back of the fabric.

Nicely coordinated color scheme to go along with the ornaments. I have no understanding of the Google announcements and it bugs me that I no longer get comments in my e-mail. Mr. Google needs to get another hobby.

very impressive result.

This is coming together very nicely. I like the additional ornamentation on the ricrac!

Mr G is suddenly giving me the cold shoulder, too. I have never understood him!

The ric-rac as well as the Feather Stitch will get many more additions! This block is far from completed; the Guinness will flow over the rim of the glas.

I particularly like the ric-rac embellishments.
I see from an above comment that I'm not the only one not getting comments by email, so I apologise for not replying to your comments on my blog.

Frothy indeed!
That is beautiful work you've done there, Queenie.
Great embellishment, stitching and contrast.

I pinched the ric-rac idea from Sharon!
I don't understand why Google make these changes without telling us!

Thanks! Contrast, eh? Almost all embellishment and embroidery is in the same shade, so I hope the contrast is with the black fabric.

Thanks so much for the lovely comment you left on my contest entry! I've always loved crazy quilts and hope to try making one someday so your posts about your blocks are so helpful, especially the way you label all the elements :) I also love the way you used the ric rac!

Very nice! I'd love to see your completed blocks so far in one photo.

Clever idea to reverse the fabric - it looks good. Splendid block.

Thank you for your kind words.
I like to label the pictures because I use the blog as a kind of work journal or craft diary. The ric-racembellishment is not MY original idea, but couching the zig-zag lines of a ric-rac is something I have done before.

These blocks are so fun to make, I sit up far too late at night working on them.

In this particular piece, the reverse is more beautiful than the front. I use the same fabric but in red on the ruby block and the green on the Trinity Green triangle quilt. There the embroidery was in shocking pink and I sometimes used the reverse of the fabric to calm down the impact.
