quilt.
Total block count is 325.
Something I have wanted to try for a long time is
Tatting
and finally I pulled out old instructions and a shuttle and gave it a try.
I also opened the page in Elizabeth Healey's book Lace Reimagined to try out tatting with a needle.
I need to take more time over the holidays to practice, but my first impression is that needle tatting is easer than shuttle tatting.

I've never tried needle tatting - how does it differ?
Really!? I've never tried needle tatting but it has always LOOOKED more difficult to me than shuttle. I don't find shuttle tatting difficult at all and it is nice that a spool of tatting thread and a small shuttle is all I need for an on the go project.
I learnt to use a tatting shuttle at high school and at first it was slow. But with all skills it is just practise. The more you do it the better you become.
Ooooh! I’ve been meaning to tatt for a couple of years now! How exciting!
One of the ladies at my handicraft group tried showing us, and I have a booklet of instructions somewhere, but it just hasn’t “happened” for me yet - that is bobbin tatting!
I don’t think I’ve seen instructions for needle tatting!
I’d like to try one day though!

Fun to see your tatting. For me needle tatting is much easier than shuttle tatting. There are lots of great video tutorials on YouTube that helped me a lot.
It’s good to try something new for a change of pace.
