Crazy for Crazy
I have begun to make an olive and watermelon salad. No feta cheese yet, if ever I put any in.
The lace was dyed, the fabric cut and pieced and the first embroidery begun.
Birthday Card
I made a simple birthday card with the leftover silk (seen underneath the pink lace, in the picture above).
Stem, Fishbone, Detached Chain and Straight stitches in all simplicity.

I love the colors in your new crazy block! The birthday card is perfect!
That's a delightful little card, and I do like the look of your salad!
The more embellishments I add the redder the block will be I fear. I might have to add some olive stitches, beads and buttons to calm it down a bit.
I am wondering how to use less watermelon and more olive in the salad, I guess I will have to pick out thread, buttons, beads and other embellishments in olive to keep the red under control.
Very attractive salad. looking forward to the progress. the card is beautiful!
Thank you. I added more watermelon and olive stitches to the salad last night and am pleased with the result.
Great start on your salad.
And the birthday card is lovely, the stitching and the silk.
Thank you. I'm now thinking what kind of dressing (beads etc) I should use.
Those colours are delicious and who ever is getting that birthday card is very lucky.
Looking forward to seeing the dressing on your salad.
I was worried the red would overpower the olive, so I have started adding some olive stitches to even out the balance.
it will glisten with oil!
Nice to see your dyed lace ..... the colours are lovely!
Love the stitches you’ve used so far. It’s always nice to see a few easier stitches along with the slightly more complicated ones.
The card is really pretty, I’d love to be receiving something like that! Lucky recipient!
Hugs,

Beautiful!
I like what you've done so far and I'm quite sure you will get the colour balanced just right. Your lovely card made me say'ahhh'as it came into view. Beautiful.
I enjoy trying to sue the various TAST and SSS stitches. Some are easier than others, so mixing them is good.
Thanks, much more work to be done!
This is just the beginning of the embellishments. I will toss in a lot of other things into this 'salad'.
