Work In Progress Wednesday from a chilly Tokyo.
Progress on my
Mola
is getting visible as the Mola style begins to take shape.
Red has a lot to do with it, I think!
Mola - Snippets of Interest
Typical Mola colours such as burgundy, orange or black are referring to the vegetable colours used for the body painting of the past.

This looks great!
It's a fascinating style, isn't it. But so painstaking.
I still have a lot of empty spaces to fill. Yours is looking great.
Thanks.
I learned a little bit more about Mola on the internet today.
Well, you have been busy with your driving license and Wally]s crane.
It is so beautiful and eye catching. Yes red does make a big difference. thanks for the information about mola.
All the red you've added makes such a difference! Quite illuminating! Looking really dazzling!

It is looking good, I like the colours
Black as a base or background fabric is good to set off almost any other colour. In this Mola I used two pieces of red fabric, one is far more brighter than the other so it stands out.
Some Mola are like neon signs in the dark. Maybe the bright red is a bit too illuminating, I will have to add some other 'neon' colours.
Yes, finally it is coming 'alive'. It was so dull before.
Your mola is developing so wonderfully! It looks like you've got it down pat now! I got out my book and was wondering if I could start something again but it seems to take so much brain power.
I don't feel the least tempted to do another one, but I will admire the perfection of Fumiko Nakayama's molas even more.
Mola is standing up to be admired already. I think the red balances the bright yellow/green and blues. Can't wait to see more tones arriving.
You are right, I need to dig further into my box of bright scraps.
This looks fantastic! The red really pops.
A bit of red on black makes a lot of difference!
It's growing nicely!
Those highlights of red just make it.
Thank you. Not a lot of progress recently, I'm afraid.
Yes, without the red this Mola would be so bland.
