TAST 153: Rosette of Thorns Stitch

TAST stands for Take A Stitch Tuesday which is an online course of stitches on Sharon Boggon's Pintangle. Join in and learn. If you want to do it from scratch, there will be a rerun starting next year.
Read more about it here.
Learn Rosette of Thorns here.

As I have explained before, I want all the TAST stitches in one (private) collection and will give them the chronological number in the order I learn them.
So now it is time for Rosette of Thorns Stitch,  which I will call TAST #153.

Innocent looking, but not the easiest of stitches.

I especially like the varigated thread. I think it looks like the thorns are blowing in the wind.

Not the easiest, but one with many possibilities!

It is a very 'bushy' type of stitch, and I can well see what you mean with blowing in the wind.

Basically it is just a Blanket Stitch, but it is tricky to find space in the centre and easy to lose the tension.

Looks very prickly!

Good samples. I like the strong curve of the pink version. I don't have any record of having done this stitch.

Actually they are very soft!

There has been so many versions of TAST, I am not sure of what stitches I have missed. Maybe this is not really a TAST stitch, but I learned it on Pintangle.
