Pigs may fly, but snakes CAN be charmed!
Last Wednesday I thought I would 'breed' about 5 snakes a week, but listen to this, I have tamed no fewer than 19 snakes, so there are 24 reptiles in the box. Once I got the hang of how to sew the paper strips together into long columns in an organized way, it was quick work.
Fabric in Focus
This is the fabric I will be using for strips between the columns of triangles.
There are green areas and turquoise areas so there will be some variety in these strips, too.

When I saw the word 'snakes' in your blog post, my phobia almost prevented me from reading, but your snakes are indeed charming, and very well trained. The sashing fabric is a great choice and should pull everything together beautifully.
Oh, I am so sorry. I never thought of how upsetting my post title could be. One paper strip with 27 triangles looks like nothing, but join eight such paper strips and you get something of a 'monster'. Sorry!

At what point do you peel off all that paper? Does it loosen up as you work with those snakes? Or are they getting more possessive? Hopefully they don't bite.
They DON'T bite and they are quite friendly, but a bit playful.
I will remove the paper as soon as there is fabric around each seam that has been stitched down. I mean, when I have three snakes and two green strips I will start to remove the paper in the center snake. So gradually the snakes will shed their dead skin.
I was lucky to have the time and peace of mind to do it. Next week will be busy with other things, like the outings to Tokyo Dome and the Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival and meeting up with FRIENDS!!!!
I realize many readers are not too fond of snakes; maybe you have a lot of them in your country. In urban Tokyo you will not see any unless you make them out of fabric and stitch them down in your quilt!

Sorry. I did not mean to frighten anyone. The snakes are absolutely harmless and have no fangs nor any poison.

It's a great feeling when something is achieved faster than planned. You must be very satisfied with the amount of work done recently.

Yes, it feels good to be ahead of the plan, but next week will be filled with other things.
Ah, yes, the snakes are looking great! I'm sure those sashing colours will show off the triangles very well!
