Trinity Green
Each paper strip contains 27 triangles. I joined eight strips together until I got a few 'snakes'. 27x8paper strips=216 triangles x 5snakes =1080 triangels have been stitched together.
At this slow pace it will take me about 6 weeks to have all the snakes together. Then I have to join them to narrow strips of green 'snakes' ..... and then we have all the paper to remove.... This project will stay with me for some time yet!
Fabric in Focus
For Christmas I was given two pieces of plain green fabric which I will have to cut into triangles and add to the collection.

little triangles of green make a big quilt. your work is inspiring me to take up some sewing. very nice green fabrics in focus.
Your project progresses, good for you!
But ALWAYS have some sewing, apart from your embroidery!
Thank you Janie, I will need all the encouragement I can get to see this marathon project through!
Amazing! Is it too early to ask if you will machine or hand quilt it?
Such persistence. Queenie you are a gem.
And ... this isn't the year of the snake. I hope it doesn't take you until that year to finish up.
Wow! This is such a huge project. I love watching it come together and admire your work.
Great progress. Whenever I see this project I am inspired to start a quilt project atleast with a basic quilt blocks.
what a lot of work you still have to do! you have lots of patients sewing together all these snakes
The first one was tricky but now I know how to join them easily and its a bit like conveyor belt assembly!
Quiltmaking is fun, do give it a try, but start out small!
The quilt is for a day bed, i.e. single bed, so not SO large, but as the triangles are small it is a huge project.
I had to count, next year of the Snake is in eight years' time (2025). I sure hope the quilt will be completed by then!
I will not want any more UFOs so I just HAVE to finish this quilt!
Oh, machine quilting! There is no way I would manage all the bulk under the seams by hand. The seam allowances are not cut off, the triangles are really small and I wouldn't have the time to do it by hand either.
Good thing must take long (German proverb, freely translated)
snakes are coming alone well trying to picture what these will look like when all joined up
It will be a stripy quilt with columns of tiny triangels and thin strips of green fabric between.
Oh, what you say is so comforting, Anneliese
