WIPW - Chevron

I have been busy with the quilt show at Tokyo Dome but finally got going with the last but one border on my bias tape quilt.

A row of overlapping green Chevron stitches are now being couched down with small red crosses. Sequins will be fixed in the squares, which I hope to show next Wednesday.

this looks interesting Queenie, would I be right in thinking it is made up of only bias strips, it must be hard to keep it from stretching.

It has been a long time since you posted about the bias tape quilt. I'm really getting very curious.

The red crosses are a great addition to the Chevrons. I like the idea of sequins in the squares.

Hi Annet,
I have found that it is hard and sometimes impractical to use embroidery for QUILTING on a quilt. Instead I use a lot of surface embroidery, like in this case the Chevron stitches, then let the smaller stitching go through all three layers. Fastening sequins, beads and buttons is another way to QUILT the quilt.

The quilt was screaming at me from the shelf! I should have finished it before New Year but there were other thing that needed my attention. SOON it will be a UFO no more and you can see ALL! Just a bit longer.

Good morning, Margaret
The Bias Tape Quilt is so called as bias tape is surrounding appliquéd pieces and then embellished with embroidery. There are some pictures on this blog post:http://queeniepatch.blogspot.jp/2012/10/work-in-progress-wednesday-action-on.html
