WIPW - Last Report of 2017

Here is the last report of Work In Progress Wednesday of 2017.

Mola
I have concentrated work of the upper left corner.
Next up is the right hand side, but that is for next year.

Mola - Snippets of Interest
The Kuna was a nomad tribe, so instead of building monuments or making sculptures, their art work was to decorate themselves with body paint, and later, by wearing Mola blouses.

Wishing you all enjoyment in the last few days of this year.

Your work is beautiful. Have thoroughly enjoyed all your posts for 2017. Hope your Christmas with your family was a festive one and the weather not too cold. My best wishes to you for a healthy and happy 2018.

Your mola is so exquisite! I'm going to be embarrassed to show you mine... how on earth do you get all the colors in there? Are you slipping in little pieces of fabric into the holes you make? I try setting it up before I put the top fabric on but it sure ends up being simple.

Thank you.
Not writing about private issues or travel experiences etc my blog posts can be rather repetitive and dull, I feel.
Christmas was not festive as 50% of the family were either in bed with colds, and needing care, or out working. The weather is colder than usual, but luckily sunny and bright.
Let's hope 2018 is a MUCH better year!

My mola is not to be looked at closely! There are too many stitches trying to cover up where the slits have frayed.
Yes, I have inserted smaller pieces of coloured fabric, but I have often missed the placement a tiny bit and needed to unpick and restitch. BORING and FRUSTRATING. Mola is NOT for me!!!!

This is coming together beautifully! Each new section adds wonderfully to the whole.

This is so pretty! I really want to try this in the new year.

Absolutely gorgeous! It reminds me so much of a wonderful piece of stained glass. Beautiful work.

I begin to like it better the more complete it gets.

Remember to pick a tightly woven fabric!

You are so right. Actually when you hold it up to a window, where the bottom fabric is displayed the light comes through and it IS like a stained glass window.

I am now reminded of my mola, languishing in the corner. Meanwhile, another baby born on Christmas day might need a little quilt. I have fallen way behind on everything.

It is lovely. Best for you and yours.

There is less than a month left before the quilt show in Tokyo Dome so I have to have my mola completed.

Thank you, but the progress is very slow, in spite of me not having as many people to cook for as you have.

Colorful addition Queenie, and nice work.
Happy New Year to you and your family!

Thank you. The more colour that I add the better it looks, I think.
Happy New Year to you, too.
