Learn the Slipped Cable Chain Stitch here.
As I have explained before, I want all the TAST stitches in one (private) collection and will give them the chronological number in the order I learn them.
So now it is time for Slipped Cable Chain Stitch, which I will call TAST #149.
Isn't it beautiful?

It is beautiful! I especially like the varigated thread.
I agree, and confess I took the idea from Sharon's example!
Looks like a caterpillar stitch .. pretty but not as dangerous.
It's lovely - it would make a lovely briar stem for a garden picture, wouldn't it!
I like your experiments with this pretty stitch!
Nice stitching :-)

It is beautiful, I especially like the row done in yellow, brown and green.
Those threads are lovely.
Lovely work!
Ha, ha!
I think the look can change dramatically with the choice of thread and length.
Yes, or a caterpillar as Julie said, or individual flowers or spiky rings for heavy metal rock stars or... the possibilities are endless.
I loved working with it!
Thank you. I think it is perfect for crazy quilting.
I personally think the variegated thread looks best...
This stitch really is perfect for thread play.
Thank you. Wouldn't it be good on a crazy quilt seam?
What beautiful samples you created, Queenie. The second photos makes me wonder if a whole project could be made from only this stitch with many different threads and various sizes.
It Would look great on CQ seams.
Yes, I agree with you - this stitch would look great on a cq seam. Also it is almost begging to play with different threads, lengths of arms and the links and the sizes of chains. Toss in colour and how the stitches are make, straight or on a curve, and you certainly could compost a whole picture with only the Slipped Cable Chain!
It sounds a great stitch to play with!
Variegated looks good, but I do like the first picture with individual colours too!

I think you could make a flowering garden, field or bunch of flowers only out of this stitch, Just change the thread!
