Visiting and reporting from the Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival in Tokyo have taken up a lot of my time so I have only two small steps of WIPW to report.
Kafferepet
No fancy quilting this time, I have simply worked some ordinary quilting stitches on the blocks with lace.
Swedish Cushion
On the Swedish cushion I added some TAST #16 Wheat ear Stitches then made a circle of #12 Alternating Barred Chain Stitches.

I am really curious about that cushion. A little bit here a little bit there. The suspense is terrible.
I am surprised you had time to do these with the quilt show, which I so enjoyed seeing. Did you make the lace? the wheatear stitch looks very good along with the other sritches you have stitched it so evenly, very nice Queenie
Your stitches are spaced so evenly. Do you measure out the length or just eye-ball it?
However, they are just beautiful.
I see I'll have to post a picture of the progress so far! In no way do I want you to be in such terrible suspense!
I would like the stitches on the cushion to 'flow' into each other = chain to linked chain to shell chain ....
The lace is from my mum's stash, unfortunately I do not know who of my relatives made it.
I eye-ball the stitches, do not use a frame or hoop and being a chicken, take only two or three stitches on the needle. I use no thimble on my rocking finger and hold the needle like an embroiderer. On the index finger underneath the quilt I have a small rubber cap (the kind you use to turn pages) to protect the skin from being pricked.
Such warming fabrics in your blocks with lace photo - reminds me of summer which can't arrive too quickly. Loving your progress on your Swedish cushion and the sketched promise of more to come :D

I love how in depth you look at other's works. I wanted to have bridges of one type of stitch and another. Sharon has shown me so many stitch combinations that go 'hand-in-hand' and can create a good flow.

No, it is cotton, and the most photo shy fabric I have ever met! It is a lovely silvery blue, but does not want anyone to see it!!!
Very nice close up pictures of your stitching and great looking Wheat ear and Alternating Barred Chain Stitches. I really do need to get back to doing some of the different TAST stitches I learned!
It is so rewarding to put newly learned stitches into a project. Good to repeat them, too, they are so easy to forget or mix up.
