WIPW - The rusty needle

Work In Progress Wednesday. The idle needle of last week is getting rusty...

Thank you so much for your kind words and well wishes. The cold I contracted last year has been very difficult to shake off and I have felt exhausted. The Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival will soon be on (23rd - 29th January) and I am doing my best to regain the strength to go and enjoy it fully.

So as a result, my Work In Progress Wednesday this week is limited to:

Kafferepet

I have worked on the paper napkin block. The serviettes are folded into triangles and I thought the Closed Buttonhole Stitch would mirror those triangles. This stitch has not yet been use for TAST so there is no number to refer to.
To learn more about WIPW head over to Pintangle.

good to read you are feeling better, as you say rest and get your strength up for the quilt show, have you got a quilt in it?

Thank you, Margaret, for your understanding.
I have no quilt in the show, just the charity block that is worked into one of the many 'Partnership quilts'. http://queeniepatch.blogspot.jp/2013/06/nhk-partnership-quilt-2014-block.html

I've not been reading blogs for a little while and didn't know you'd been poorly. So sorry to learn it now and also to learn that it has left you so worn out. I'm glad there's still a little while before the quilt show so that you can rebuild your strength. Lots of healing hugs on their way to you.

The closed buttonhole looks great with the triangles! Hope you'll be able to visit the quiltshow.

Thank you, Lis. I will do my best to be fit to hit the show.

Thank you, Annet.
Yes, I think the Closed Buttonhole is a great when you want triangles, spikes, bunting, icicles and they felt just right here. I wonder why they have not been made into a TAST stitch yet...

Such even stitches, and great close up photography! Glad you are getting better. I wish I could be at the quilt show too!

Yes, you gotta be in shape for the show! I can hardly wait.
Closed buttonhole works so well on the napkins.

Than you for your kind words. Don't you think it is hard to take good photos in winter? Here it is either too dark or too sunny. You can see how differently the checked fabric looks in the two pictures above.
It is such a pity you won't make it to the show!

Yes, aren't the Closed Buttonhole just perfect here?

So glad to hear that you are feeling better, there is nothing worse than feeling unwell. Your piece is progressing wonderfully, That closed button hole is perfect where you have used it.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend and that you have the Quilt Show to look forward to [something like that can really stimulate the healing process :) ]

The Closed Buttonhole really lends itself to this piece. Perfect!

You if anyone knows how draining it is to feel unwell. I have been SO tired. Now the brain is working well again and I hope to have something interesting to show next WIPW.

You are right - a quilting treat is the best medicine!

wipw is a good idea. Perhaps I should have registered to it for my tapissery piece.

I think WIPW is a great way to make me keep up with my work - or at least try to make some progress even in 'low' weeks. Just taking a few stitches in a week is still progress! Good luck, Isabelle!
