Below, I spaced the couching stitches further apart and made them taller (two holes in the Aida).

A couching type stitch and a border type stitch this is fun I'll enjoy looking into this one, thanks for sharing.
This comes under the heading of "I couldn't find a braid I liked so I made one!", doesn't it!
