WIPW - Echo

It is time to show and tell, Work In Progress Wednesday is here.

Crazy for Crazy

I have worked in several areas. Some are the additions echo features seen in other areas on the block.

I completed the spirals of gimp and encircled the Dorset button with the end of the gimp.

On the ribbon I added black sequins with French Knots, and stitched a line of Looped Cretan Stitch.

I made half a Buttonhole Wheel, Stem stitched the circle, added Bullion Knots and Straight Stitch anchoring stitches.

A metal button rests on top of some ruched ribbon and a line of Corded Coral Stitch cover the edge of the two pieces of fabric.

Next step will be beading.

Beautiful! Your Crazy for Crazy panels remind me of portraits of Elizabeth I. The colours of this one, in particular, reminds me of the Ermine portrait.

There are some lovely echoes and responses in here, tying the elements of the design together.

I never thought of that, but yes, QEI wore very decorative clothes and a cq block with lots of embellishments would be like one of her dresses.
I had to google the ermine portrait; I have postcards of some of the other portraits, but not that one.
However, my inspiration for this block was Guinness! Now I am about to add beads and some pearls, so it will turn more into a royal dress than an Irish drink.

Fun embellishing and beautiful embroidery.
The stitching, beads and sequence on the ribbon are
gorgeous and the 'comet' is wow!

Nice new additions.

That is one thing that I have learned from Sharon Boggon's book - to have some focal points that the eye can wander between.

It is fun to use various stitches and seek new ways to use ribbon and gimp.
