Friday Homework for Lesson 65: Rosette Stitch Rose

The Rosette Stitch Rose was easy to make and will be a good building block for flowers. It could be a rose bud, the centre of a rose or other flower. It could be rose apples on a tree, and if worked in brown and many wraps it could become a roasted coffee bean - Rosette Stitch Bean?!

So many uses, indeed!

I am thinking of how it could be combined with other stitches or other textures. Your wool tailoring has some interesting colors together.

I like them done in the orange yarn, plump and 'over stuffed'.
And very attractive next to the 'pearls.'

I see skeins of wool ready for knitting, maybe for one of your stumpwork ladies or bonnet girls.

.. and the look changes with the thread , don't you think?

On the Teal Wool Tailoring cloth I have used a number of types of thread, which gives it a lot of variety. The Aida sampler is only Coton a Broder and the SSSRef Chart is in perle. Not a lot of change there, but easy to see each stitch.

What a great idea! Yes indeed, balls of knitting yarn.
