It was my intention to work on a piece of wine red even weave, I had bought in a thrift shop, attracted by the colour. It turned out to be a horrid piece of polyester and did not stitch up well. It was scrapped and I got out a lovely stretch of Danish 32 count linen instead. I am stitching in DMC Pearl #12 and the Four Sided Stitch is highly addictive. Once you get started it is hard to take a break.
Sunday Stitch School will take a break over the New Year holiday and open again on January 8th.

I read in the paper yesterday that the flu has hit a 10 year high. I hope it passes by before school starts up again ... the cold is bad enough! Nice to see you taking a stitching break.
I love 4 sided stitch but my eyes would not be able to see 32 count even struggle with 28 unless it is white or cream. Do hope you are all feeling better and the flu soon leaves you all leading to a healthy 2017

I need LIGTH more than anything for sewing these days. That wine red polyester I tried to work on was just too hard to see, in any light. So white or cream is a good choice for 'aging' eyes!

I remember enjoying working this stitch years ago, it looks very nice on your linen.
Linen is the best place for this stitch, although it looks good as a free form stitch on plain weave too.
