WIPW really works; I don't know if any of my progress this week would have happened if it hadn't been for the weekly routine, and the supportive and kind comments and suggestions by WIPW participants.
Kafferepet
Completed #1.
The quilting is done!
Swedish Cushion
The Swedish cushion has been sleeping all week, and is patiently waiting for a new TAST stitch to fill in some stray empty spaces. (A hint to Sharon, I am hoping for a triangular stitch... ; ) )
New WIPW - TASTy Beads Galore
As there are no beaded TAST stitches on the Swedish cushion, I have started on a new project where I want to add the TAST stitches with beads.
The first stitch is TAST #135 Beaded Fern Stitch.
Swedish Wool Embroidery Collar
Completed #2.
Here is the completed collar shown with the two wrist warmers I made last year.
We are ready for the cold!
Extra WIPW - Felted Bluebells
Completed #3.
Do you remember the felted bluebells I had intended to use as ornaments on the strings of the collar? As they were too large, I dressed them up with some embroidery and beads, and turned them into Christmas decorations. Who's heard of Winter Bluebells?
TAST Reference Chart
#135 Beaded Fern Stitch has been added.
I hope you are working towards completing a project, too. Keep up the good work!

No work going on here ... nothing near finished ... but I love your finishes and the super model! Congratulations.
Thanks, Julie.
It is nice to tick projects off the list!
Great work! What is kaferepet? I have been wondering just what that means.
Kafferepet is a Swedish word for 'coffee party'. I have made a quilt with all the ingredients for a great (and formal) coffee drinking gathering, the buns, cakes and china. You can see a picture of the quilt top here:

Oh boy, look at all the completed work on that list! Just lovely.
Queenie the Kafferepet is looking great and as for your collar it is outstanding and love the picture of you showing it off at its best. Your new project using beaded stitches is going to be another work of art and as usual the tast stitch is great. Love what you have done with your bluebells too all in all a great blog
Yes, it was a good week for working on the WIP projects.
Thank you, Margaret. I feel very happy to have completed the collar in time for the cold, have two more ornaments for Christmas and started the Beaded TAST piece at last. Hopefully Kafferepet and the Swedish cushion will be ticked off soon, too.
Queenie, as always I love to visit and ogle all the wonderful projects you manage to finish!! Well done!

Amazing! You do such beautiful work and are so diligent. Great picture of you!
fantastic finishes. congrats!. I love your collar and wrist warmers. Thanks for posting the picture of you wearing them, it looks awesome. the new project of beaded stitches is very beautiful. the bluebells look great.
Dear Barbara,
Thank you for your kind comments. I am sure you know how great it feels to finish a project that has been going on for a long time.
Hi, Pamela.
Thank you.
I have been lucky enough to find time and energy go work hard at finishing some of my UFOs. Rest assure, I will soon have new UFOs to want to finish!
Wow, Queenie, what a productive week you have had! It must feel good to have the quilting finished on the Kafferepet. The collar and wrist warmers are just beautiful and so practical, and your joyful Felted Bluebells are just perfect as Christmas decorations. Looking forward to following your new beaded project.
Oh, yes, finishing the quiliting is NICE, in the end it became a bit boring. Now I have to add an edge, a hanging sleeve and a label. Then the quilt can be ticked off the list. The wrist warmers were so nice and cosy last winter and I hope the collar will be as comfortable this winter.
The quilting on your Kafferepet is so pretty, but I'm sure you're happy it's done! Your new collar is beautiful and it's good to see you wearing it. I'm glad you used the bells to make Christmas ornaments, they were just made for that! Now I'm curious to know what project you started for the beaded TAST stitches, love your variation on the beaded fern stitch!
Your fingers must be aching from all that stitching! The collar and wrist warmers look fabulous, and it's great to be able to put a face to the name after so long. Will the new project be a quick one, or something you can really get lost in?
Oh my goodness, I am not sure where to begin. I am SO excited to see your Kafferepet is quilted and ready for the next step. It is such a lovely project! And, I just love all things with hearts, the design alone on your newest project won me over. The stitching and lovely fabric are fabulous! Your Swedish Collar and Wrist Warmers turned out SO well. And, I just love your bluebell ornaments. Lovely! What a week of accomplishments.
Well done! All looking great.=)
Queene, Your work is absolutely lovely in every way! Thank you for providing both joy and inspiration to us!
Oh my goodness, the Kafferepet is looking fantastic ! The Swedish collar is such an accomplishment.......it is so beautiful and you can wear it with pride, well done Queenie ! !
Your little felted bluebells are divine, I love them ! ! ! Excited to follow your new project.....
Have a fun week Queenie,
hugs
Chris Richards xx
You are always so kind and full of encouragement,. Thank you, Chris.
It is nice to make things that can actually be 'on display' so the collar was well worth the effort; too many of my ornamental pieces are in storage most of the year.
It is thanks to you and all the other blog readers who give kind comments or sound advice that I find the 'push' to complete WIPs.
When I first realised that the bluebells were too large for the collar I was disappointed and thought I had wasted my effort - then I got the inspiration to turn them into Christmas bells, and I think that was the best destination for them.
Ha, ha! Actually my fingers are not aching but my home needs some TLC and quality time with the hoover!
The new project will have the beaded TAST stitches, so that means about 10 (?) stitches, and I might do several of them at the same time, so I'll say it's a quickish project. However, I have yet ANOTHER project brewing that I can get lost in!
You know, Renee, I started on the Kafferepet several years ago and it is TIME to finish it! I'll try to do the last spurt quickly.
The design on beaded TAST piece might have to change according to the stitches. Some of them are not suited for flowers or curvy lines, Luckily the marker is erasable so I can change the drawings.
I am very grateful for all the kind comments you always give me.
Thank you, Elizabeth. It was an exceptionally productive week; I guess I will soon be back in the slow rut again. Life can put so many stoppers in our projects, as you know. How are you getting on yourself? I hope it has been a good week playing with thread.
Thank you, Chitra. I always value your comments highly and I can learn so much from your stitch sampler. You also produce such beautiful garments and that has always been an inspiration to add embroidery to clothes. ANOTHER wearable piece of embroidery is brewing - watch this space!
Thank you, Jane for your kindness. Sharing the results of our work with others is the best source of inspiration.
Btw I was impressed by the log cabin blocks you made out of Japanese fabric.
Queenie, You are making so much of progress. I absolutely love the quilt with coffee based theme. Thanks for your comments on my blog for my kasuti embroidered blouse and thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you Shami,
It's been a good week with much progress. Next week might be very different!
The Kafferepet quilt reflexts the Swedish coffee culture and has been great fun to make.
Although I don't know much about, and of course never have tried kasuti embroidery I do like it and admire the women who devote so much time embellishing their garments. I am sure yours will be stunning.
I am delighted to see you with the Swedish outfid - beautiful! And all your work progressing.
It is nice to have some wearable embroidery!
You have made such a wonderful work. The swedish collar is beautiful.
Lots of pretty things to look at! It's great that some are finished now and will be very useful. The bluebells are great little Christmas decorations.
Thank you Séverine. I am so pleased that the collar is ready before the cold sets in.
Hi, Linda.
Yes, I am pleased, too, that some things are useful and will remind me of the fun I had during the summer. Felted woollen bluebells will bring back memories of soapy water play on the Swedish west coast!
Wow where to even start - so many beautiful projects! Your cuffs and collar are stunning and it's nice to catch a glimpse of you too! Congratulations on finishing the quilting on Kafferpot - it's been so fun to see your progress through that!
Greetings from Tokyo!
It is still too warm for collar and cuffs here, I bet you will soon be needing such items by the look of the pictures on your blog.
I am now working on the edge of the Kafferepet quilt and hope to tick that quilt off the list in the near future.
Just brilliant work, I love everything, the little bell ornaments are delightful. Your collar and cuffs are beautiful and it is nice to see you modeling them.
I am so glad I found a way to use the left over bluebells.
It is getting colder in the morning and at night and the collar and cuffs are good to wear then and remove in the middle of the day when the temperatures go up.
