TAST #128 Interlaced Up and Down Buttonhole stitch

Wow! This is a fantastic stitch! It is easy to do, looks stunning both in its simple version and when worked in uneven lengths or in a variegated thread.

What am I talking about? Well, TAST #128 Interlaced Up and Down Buttonhole stitch, of course!

Here on Aida fabric. By lacing the two rows of stitches you get those neat diamonds.
I love the contrast between the short stitches on the first row and the longer, uneven ones on the second row.

Do you feel tempted to try? Why not go to Pintangle and let Sharon teach you.

Spot on! And it is a cheery lot of bunnies, too.

Julie, see above, saw them as dancing bunnies and I think they would look great in a circle. Looking forward to your show and tell tomorrow.

The variegated thread is so cool, such a versatile stitch.

It makes such a difference when you make one side longer than the other, looks like a different stitch. I didn't try that [not on purpose anyway].

Put a face in the middle and you have a row of dancers, of some kind or other.

The tread was a gift and I just love it! The change of colour comes often which makes a dramatic effect.

I think this is a stitch that can be varied in a lot of ways with the type of thread, colour, stitch length and addition of beads etc.

What a delightful set of photos. Love the reddish Chorus dancers and the long row of best friends, arms around each other, stepping out, right feet forward to enjoy the day.
I;m leaving here with a big smile on my face.
