It looked complicated to me and I had a hard time counting threads to get an even spacing. Many other participants, however, said they had no problems. I think I will love this stitch in free form rather than formal counted work.
Here is the beaded version of the stitch. I got on a bit better with this TAST #107 Beaded Looped Cretan, or maybe I just liked the colours better...
However, as you can see I missed the placement of one of the pearls, so you need a certain amount of concentration to do this stitch, too. Want to try it out? Sharon will teach you at Pintangle.

Yes, this stitch looks complicated to me too! That's why I use Aida, it makes it easy to count when I'm trying a new stitch. Love your samples!
Oh, Annet! I really NEED you! Of course AIda would solve the spacing problem; I'll pull out a spare piece and try it right away. THANK YOU!
I am glad I am not trying to pull that off because I just can't count. I think the beads are just so very pretty with that stitch.
I am glad I have a friend in the 'can't count' department! In this case it was more of 'can't be bothered' but Annet soon put me back on track and I re-did the stitches on Aida, a much easier fabric to count on. See the difference on my latest blog post!
looks pretty good to me Queenie will have a go in the next few days and see what happens to mine. Saw your second post before I saw this one
Oh Queenie, Annet came to the rescue........I must admit that some stitches I struggle with too ! Sometimes I like the uniformity of stitching on Aida but then 'freeform' Just lets my mind take over.....Thats what I love about stitching, there is no end to what you can accomplish !
Have a good day Queenie,
Hugs

The stitch itself is really nice and belongs to a cq block. You just need to do it either neatly and evenly, or go wild with free form embroidery. Have fun!
I know understand that for LEARNING and getting the first FEEL for a stitch Aida will be the best choice. Once you have got the hang of it, then it is time to pull out another type of fabric and perfect your stitches or let the needle run amok.
Thank you for always having such a positive attitude!
