Friday Homework for Lesson 58: Twisted Shell Chain Stitch
This was a lovely stitch, but I must admit it was easier to work on Aida,
where there is a nice grid,
than on even weave linen
Twisted Shell Chain Stitch did behave well on a curve, though, as seen on the Sunday Stitch School Reference Chart.
This is an unusual, but very easy stitch. I highly recommend it!

It works really beautifully on a curve - that's very useful to know!
I like to test new stitches to see if they curve well, they that stitch is suitable for free form.
I tried the stitch on Aida and like it. Your curve looks so good I will have to try that one.
For free form embroidery it is good to have a selection of stitches than can bend and twist and curve ans swerve... Also if you are doing 'straight line' embroidery on a round table cloth e.g. you need a stitch that can follow that rounded line. This is such a stitch! Do give it a try.
I really do like that curve, and can see some possibilities in using it. Getting the spacing even might take a bit of practice.
Julie, this is a very easy stitch, so don't be afraid of trying it. Spacing is free! You don't need the stitch to be evenly spaced.
