WIPW - Filling in the Bottom

Work In Progress Wednesday today is once again all about

Mola
where work was done to add colour to the bottom area of the panel.
Also the glaring red triangle at the top left corner was calmed down with some green.

Next job will be to add embroidery.

Mola - Snippets of Interest
Mola panels are not allowed to be sold outside Panama and Columbia. The Mola is seen a cultural heritage, and the Cuna forbid the sale outside these countries.

It's looking absolutely fantastic, a complete riot of colour and pattern, and a real tonic for the eyes. I admire your patience too, turning under all those tiny seams on the top layer without ripping the fabric, or having raw edges show on nearby cut-outs must have been time-consuming and fiddly work.

Even more colours will be added with thread - long live embroidery!

Thank you.
I am glad I used so many different colours.

Thank you. It is much more colourful than I had planned, but I am pleased with the result.

Oh, but I HAVE ripped the fabric, had to insert new and larger pieces after finding the raw edges peeped out of the slits in the top layer. Oh, yes, it has been very time-consuming and frustrating. I am glad I am not a Cuna indian!

Not yet, but almost there. It will be ready for the quilt festival.

The embroidery was the most enjoyable part!

Yes, patience was needed for this work. I will probably never do a Mola again!

I agree it improves by the hole, but I did not like working on this quilt. Now I am treating myself to some embroidery fun!
