Now that I have read the instructions correctly and done as Sharon suggested in the previous TAST post, the Chain Stitches that these stitches are based on lie flat and behave very well.

I also took the advice of designer Linda Calverley of Lins Arty Blobs and filled in the 'void' I had left in the centre of last week's sampler (TAST #122 Chained Bar). Thanks, Linda.
Golly, this stitch is less stitch and more fabric, such depth and density, looks good.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a great stitch for when you want structure.
DeleteThis is a great stitch. I think it will be very useful!
ReplyDeleteThis is really perfect for cq seam treatment.
DeleteThose remind me of the home-made woven zori.
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect description!
ReplyDeleteThe woven chained bars look like they would take a long time to stitch, I like it so I will have a go. The 'void' is looking good too.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, they are time consuming, but have a good structure and add interest to any embroidery.
DeleteHow fun! I have been trying to decide which project I should add this stitch to. After seeing your samples, all I really know is that I plan to alternate the colors I weave the stitch with. I love your colorful woven stitches!
ReplyDeleteThis is an easy stitch to change thread for each woven chain so it could be VERY colourful. Enjoy your stitch fun!
Deleteyou have been busy on these Queenie, like the additions to the previous week`s stitch.
ReplyDeleteThese woven stitches take up a lot of time! and I just felt I had to add something in last week's void.
DeleteYour stitching is very colourful. I haven't done this one yet.
ReplyDeleteYou need time to do them, however, they are easy so no strain.
DeleteThese are gorgeous, Queenie!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I have only a small selection of perle 5 with me and have to think about how to use the colours I do have.
DeleteHi Queenie, back from my holiday and catching up ! I also love the woven stitches !
ReplyDeleteYours remind me of the braid that is used to hang Swiss cow bells.......so pretty..........
