WIPW - Thorn stitch? Thorn needle!

Work In Progress Wednesday

Mola
I have dug up a bit more colour from under the black top.
(Sorry about the blurred photo; too late in the day to take a decent photo.)

Mola - Snippets of Interest
The Kuna indians used hand made needles made from the long thorns of the Sinyu tree.

  3. Hi Queenie, I have missed some of your blogs as I have been busy. I see that a new embroidery has been started, it is a lovely idea to follow the old traditions. The mola art is beautiful, it is nice to see something different

    1. Thank you. With black as the top layer you need colourful opening or the piece would be so dull.

    1. I also think it is improving with time, but I still don't like working on this kind of 'quilting'.

  10. Looks very artistic, but not my cup of tea. How are you planning to finish it?

    1. It's not my cup of tea either, but I am glad I tried this technique.
It was supposed to be made into a bag, but I might make a cushion of it instead.

  11. My mola has completely ground to a halt with so much else going on. Of course it didn't help to have to tidy up for guests and move all my colored fabric back to the dark cold upstairs.

    1. I feel tempted to let my Mola grind to a halt, too.
Although I still don't like it, it is looking a bit better the more colour I add.
