Friday Homework? No!

There was no lesson last Sunday at Sunday Stitch School, so today there is no homework to hand in.

I am looking forward to the day after tomorrow, when there will be a new stitch. WHAT will it be this time? Hm, it should start with the letter S, shouldn't it? From which book will the stitch come?

    What fun those books look to be. I had a set of Anchor books that included that Hardanger book when I lived in the US.

      A Norwegian relative has given me some authentic Hardanger, and I am a bit uneasy about stitching something myself, so the Hardanger book is one I have not yet done anything from. I will have to bite the bullet one day!

      They are all excellent, and hold many stitches I have yet to learn. The Sunday Stitch School can run forever!

    I'm looking forward to it! Maybe it's the stitch I've been waiting for at TAST, it was only part of the first TAST run in 2007.

      Well, I joned TAST in 2012 so have not done the stitches of 2007. The only hint I will give you is that it is a linear stitch.

      Then I'll have to figure out what to do the next time I'll offer an S-stitch. What could it be you are waiting for...?

      I think you know which stitch if I tell you it uses mirrors, but I have a stash of large sequins waiting for a long time to use!

      I checked the TAST list and guess it is the Shisha stitch, as we have already done Scroll, Sheaf, Spanish Feather ad Square Boss.
      There are many things you can fill a Shisha stitch with, didn't you work it around an old (Asian?) coin?

      Fun you remember the first CQ block I made, it indeed has a coin with shisha stitch on it! I think I bought the sequins for this stitch in 2010, the second run of TAST!

    I love looking through books like that. Even if I don't work every single stitch it fascinates me to see how they are done and used.
    It's something I can't stay away from.
