WIPW - Just Cutting

The first W in WIPW stands for Work. Is Work a noun  as in Patchwork or A Work of Art? Or is it a verb and stand for the action of sewing/knitting etc? Does it stand only for Sewing? I hope cutting triangles will count as Work In Progress, too!

For the last week I have had no time to sit down and actually sew any triangles, but have cut and cut and cut and filled the boxes with piles of triangular pieces again:

Nor have I had time to pick a Fabric in Focus.

Hopefully I will have a much better report next week.

    I think cutting is work! I understand about not having time to accomplish everything you wanted to.
    I like your boxes of green. Nice to look at.

      The boxes are even nicer to look at when almost empty! That proves to me I have actually done some sewing, ha, ha!

    cutting definitely counts as work. anything worked to make progress or aid progress has to be counted. good stash of triangles. enjoy!

      You are always engaged in a lot of preparations (cutting, folding and basting) when you work on your hexagons so you know what I am talking about, right?

    without the cutting there would be no work so yes definately work and sometimes hard work. Plenty of triangles here to sew together

      It IS hard work. The rotary cutter can so easily slip and slice off a fingertip so one has to be attentive all the time. On odd shapes of scrap fabric or areas that need to be fussy cut, you need to think hard to make the best use of the fabric. HARD work!

    That definitely rates as work. Not only physical but mental as well. I sometimes find the mental part takes the most effort.

      Oh, I feel just the same! Coming up with ideas, making decisions, drawing up designs, cutting triangles, shopping for the perfect item, all take a LOT of effort.

    Oh, it is all PLAY. I love playing with scraps ... and finding creative was to organize them. It is putting them together that sucks up more time but that is fun too.
