TASTy Tuesday Second Helpings 135 - 140

We have reached the final course of this TASTy meal; all the 140 stitches have been added.

135) Beaded Fern Stitch
136) Knotted Buttonhole Band (impossible to get the right hand (upper) stitches neat)
137) Beaded Knotted Buttonhole Band (impossible to get any stitch neat)

138) Barb Stitch
139) Beaded Barb Stitch
140) Threaded Cable Chain Stitch

Although all the TAST stitches have been worked into this sampler, there is more work to do:
I will redo #22 Buttonhole Wheel Stitch
I will try to remove an unfortunate stain
I will work some lettering in the small spaces left between the ten blocks at the side
I will stretch the fabric
I will turn over the edges and hem them
I will add a backing and hanging sleeve

There will still be some weeks of TASTy Tuesdays.

  4. Beautiful work, are you going to put it in a picture frame? Well done.

    1. No, it will get a hanging sleeve and escape the cold glass and the hard frame of a picture frame. (That way it is easier to store it when not displayed.)

  7. Lovely work, Queenie! I like the beaded fern stitch too, but I think I like the threaded cable stitch even better, it looks sort of Celtic, don't you think!

    1. Yes, it does have a Celtic look. It also resembles the Pekinese stitch (TAST #31 http://queeniepatch.blogspot.jp/2016/06/tasty-tuesday-second-helpings-29-35.html)

    2. Yes, they are very similar!
I love your stitches 29-35, especially drizzle stitch - I used this stitch for my doll's hair (http://theflashingscissors.blogspot.jp/2015/06/rag-doll-update.html).
Your cast on stitch looks very effective, I must try this out soon!

  8. Are you implying that some day down the road there may be an end to this project?
Guess it is not yet time to hold my breath.

I like the icy look of the Fern stitch and love the whole project.

  10. Well done. I stopped at 100 stitches. I hang my sampler on the back of the wardrobe door. In fact the wardrobe has 2 doors, so perhaps I should stitch those other 40 stitches.

  12. Wow, you did it! A few weeks ago I discovered I never did TAST stitch 140, so this one is still on my to-do-list. Thanks for reminding me!
