WIPW - The last spurt.

My Work In Progress Wednedsday report is shorter than usual this week. The Swedish cushion was completed last week and is of course off the list, there is No TAST reference chart work to report on either, but I've made progress on:

Kafferepet
I have prepared the hanging sleeve, but not stitched it on yet. The label itself is on, but the decorative lace and appliqué is not completed. I'll add embroidery with the perle 8 seen in the photo.
It is the beginning of the last spurt.

Pile 'em On
I added more thread play to the tangle. One addition was the keyring with trapped thread ends. I wrote about the process here. As usual I got good feedback from my online friends. Thank you so much.
Chris Richards suggested adding a pearl or jewel in the centre. I think I will act on that suggestion, once the piece is finished.
By the way, Chris has made some fantastic bead embroidery. Check this one out.
After seeing Annet's WIPW and Royce's Schwalm embroidery my fingers are itching to start on some different work outside the large tangled circle. I think it is time for some order in the mess!

TASTy Beads Galore
I tried to improve the flower that Chitra gave inspiration to. I have added stronger coloured thread. Unfortunately the red fabric steals the show with its overpowering raspberry red.
The flowers have grown in size with more Beaded Barb Stitches and there is also a Beaded Barb Stitched stem.
It is time to move on to another beaded TAST stitch for next week. Séverine's fantastic work has given me a lot of inspiration.

    the colours you have chosen in the perle thread are going to work beautifully and your orts piece is looking so good now how a "mess" can be turned into something spectacular shows so well.I rather like the rasberry colour fabric it works so well with the turquoise. Lots of plans I read you have for 2015 is there no quilting happening at the moment?

      I might add another colour, too, to the label. I'll see while working on it.
      The orts piece is still a 'stress relief' piece and I am sure there will be more tangled up orts in the circle when next stressful incident occur. Until then I want to do some pulled or drawn work.. cross stitch or even a bit of Hardanger...
      The raspberry red fabric is just beautiful in itself but you need strong coloured thread to make the embroidery 'pop'.
      The QUILTING on Kafferepet is finished so, no there is no quilting happening at the moment. Plenty of material and ideas for quilts in my stash, though.

    Your freestyle embroidery is very interesting, lots to see. It's good to see your pretty beaded barb stitch flower, it's next on my list to catch up on TAST.

      As I have run out of orts, I'll take the longer bits of stray thread and work more TAST stitches in the circle. I will use my Reference Chart and see how many I can do without looking at the instructions. Then I really want to work outside the circle with something totally different.

    Looking forward to your progress on Kafferepet. the beaded barb stitch flowers and stem look gorgeous. I like your adding more rows for the flower. the key ring is an interesting addition. eager to see your pulled thread work. Thanks for the links.

      I hope to have a real coffee party (kafferep) to celebrate the completion of the quilt next Wednesday.
      The Beaded Barb flower does look better with more rows of stitches.

    All the items you have worked on over this last year or so are wonderful and you have been so consistent and diligent. That's what comes of having a clear vision. Congratulations.

      You should know that without Sharon's initiative with TAST and especially WIPW, most of my projects would still be lurking in the cupboard. The support and encouragement from online friends like you, have been the 'juciest of carrots' to spur me on. THANK YOU!
