WIPW - wool is too hot to handle!

Last week when the weather was so cold, I said it was nice to have some wool embroidery to keep my fingers warm. Since then the weather has changed and it is now too hot to handle wool. Why are we never satisfied?!

Below is my Work In Progress Wednesday report. You can read others' reports over at Pintangle. (Sharon has added a secret pocket to her hussif - it's stylish!)

Swedish Cushion
I added two new lines in pink perle #8.

TAST #25 Bonnet Stitch in darker pink on the right
#59 Breton Stitch in lighter pink on the left.
I see now that those Breton stitches aren't too neat!

TAST Reference Chart
Here I have worked myself up to #102 Beaded Triangular Buttonhole Stitch.
I have not yet prepared the numbers and names of the remaining stitches but will work them nevertheless. 18 stitches to go!

    Beautiful progress! We had two hot days this summer, but has been cool since then. Today it is raining and almost cold!

      The rainy season is always wet and cold or wet and warm... Now take care as the typhoon is approaching.

    It sounds as if the weather is as changeable there, as it is here, one minute wind and rain, the next lovely bright sunshine! I love how your cushion is progressing, and really like the woven trellis stitch you posted a couple of days ago–I'll definitely give that one a try!

      Thank you for your kind words. I don't know how many more stitches I can add to the Swedish Cushion; I will try as many as possible but space is getting scarcer.
      Do try the Woven Trellis Stitch!

    Sounds like your weather is as changeable as ours! Even if it is too warm to work on for now, the cuff is looking lovely–just the sort of thing to brighten up dark chilly days. (PS: I thought I'd already left a comment, but it didn't show up, so sorry if I'm repeating myself!).

      Having learned a lot of TAST stitches, it is great fun to actually use them in various projects. Sometimes it is hard to select a stitch that is suitable.

    The weather is fickle here too, 27C and sunny on Friday, pouring with rain at the weekend and about 17C. Lovely stitching regardless :-)

      Today was HOT, but as there is no humidity to deal with it is bearable. Nevertheless, wool is TOO hot to handle in the heat!

    It's raining here, perfect for stitching, but not for taking photos! Love the new stitches on your cushion and Swedish collar.

    It is freezing here, literally. The temperature this morning was -3 degrees C, it will get up to about 20 degrees by the middle of the day but my hands get so cold. Maybe I should be the one working on wool? Great progress on all your pieces.

    The typhoon is supposed to be on the way but we are being teased with sunshine. Good thing you have weather-friendly projects that can be switched. I love the blooms.

      We had some strong winds in the archipelago today, but nothing compared to a 'jolly good typhoon':
      It is cooling down in the evenings so I CAN work on my wool embroidery.

    With this hot, hotter and hottest climates, it is good to read about cool weathers. the cushion is progressing wonderfully. the work on TAST chart is quite fast, very good.
    the flowers are looking great. I love them.

      Why are we never pleased with the weather we have? The best thing to do is to dress according to the climate - you in cool cotton and I in my warm woolen collar (later in winter, that is).
      I want to complete the TAST reference chart soon as it is so handy for selecting new stitches.

      The beauty of summer - to be able to sit out in the garden, to enjoy the longer days, to drink up the sunshine... Enjoy it, and then live on the memory in winter!

    hopefully you might just have your cushion with you when we meet at the FOQ, would love to see it in the flesh so to speak! Really it is looking wonderful with so many stitches on

    Thank you for your kind thoughts. I have fled Japan's humidity for the comfort of Sweden. After a cold spell we are now enjoying warm lovely sunny weather - perfect for outdoor stitching!
    I hope you are well and working on the border of your quilt.
