Swedish Cushion
Here I have made the outline of a heart in TAST #114 Long Tailed Chain (light green), and filled it with #108 Rice Stitch (brown and blue) and #109 Square Boss Stitch (brown and red).
Swedish Wool Embroidery Collar
Another flower is blossoming.
TAST Reference Chart
All 121 TAST stitches we have learned so far have been added, although the last ones have no name tag.
At the rate you are going, the cushion might be finished before you return home.
ReplyDeleteI know! I am running out of space!
DeleteThose pieces are all looking good. When are you getting time to stitch as you are travelling?
ReplyDeleteOn the train. I have another long ride tomorrow so hope to add more stitches!
Deleteyour cushion is coming along beautifully, the wool embroidery looking good too, not something I have done much of so far!. Loving the way you are doing your tast chart
ReplyDeleteFor next WIPW there will be no TAST ref chart to work...
DeleteBeautiful stitches and nice progress. You must be somewhere cooler, since you are working on the wool project.
ReplyDeleteThe AC on the train was on full blast, so nice to work in wool!

ReplyDeleteIt will be completed soon!

Thank you, Chris. It is nice to work on these projects while on holiday, but my response to readers' comments is slow... sorry!
DeleteThe heart is great. I love the flower. I enjoy watching your work progress!
ReplyDeleteHi, Renee.
DeleteI think hearts often feature in folk craft and it felt right to add one here.
All looking excellent. I can remember trying to do some embroidery on a plane years ago when you were allowed to take sharp implements, but I dropped the needle and never did find it. Hope no one sat on it!
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a problem. I never have more than one needle out at the time and try to keep track of it at all times. On a plane I would have a thread cutter instead of scissors.
DeleteI had a friend suggest I take a dental floss container if I wanted to stitch on a plane. I cut cut the thread on the little floss cutter.
DeleteAll your projects are looking good, your cushion has so many interesting stitches it will be wonderful when it is finished. Have a lovely holiday and a safe journey!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan. It is nice to have some needlework on a trip and you can bet there will be someone who wants to see and chat about it!
