If you have needlework projects that progress too slowly, why not join in the Work In Progress Wednesday challenge? You write a bit on your blog about what you have achieved, then leave a comment on Sharon's Pintangle for everyone to see. The pressure of publicity!
Since returning home from my break, my Work In Progress has been on getting MYSELF and the household settled; I have only had energy and time to put in some stitches on the
Swedish Cushion
Here I couched (TAST stitch #9) a turquoise viscose chainette from Oliver Twist with #15 French Knots in Ravenna, a rayon thread from the Kyoto based thread manufacturer Art Fibre Endo.
I hope to have much more Work In Progress to show next Wednesday.
This promises to be very exciting Queenie ! Will be great to see how this progresses.....
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday

There is lots of work to do still on this cushion. Before I do any of that I'll tackle the Kafferepet quilt.
DeleteGlad to see you moving along ... on your stitching and on your blog.
ReplyDeleteLet the household settle itself.
I am letting other family members take care of the household jobs, so hopefully I will have more stitching to show next Wednesday!
DeleteThis cushion is going to be fabulous, the photos are great too! I know what you mean, about finding time to sew and blog about it–lately, I've only had time for work–hope the dust settles soon and I can get back to the sewing.
ReplyDeleteWell, needlework is a HOBBY and just has to take second fiddle from time to time, however much one might like it. From now on I think it can move up to first fiddle! I hope you will find the time for fibre fun, too, Elizabeth.
DeleteLooks so good!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I just wish it had been a bit more progress. The quilt is beckoning me...
DeleteYour stitching looks so perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marci, it is kind of you to say so. Actually placing the French Knots on the couched thread was not easy! They are easy to use as individual stitches but are difficult to control for accuracy.
DeleteLooks like you're settling back in nicely.
ReplyDeleteI hope from now on I will have the time and peace of mind for more stitch fun!
DeleteYou had a break and still was able to return to even perfect stitching, impressive. I am so looking forward to seeing this finished cushion.
ReplyDeleteNow that we both have Karin Holmberg's book 'Stitched in Scandinavia' you might soon be recognising some of that type of embroidery design. Look out for På-söm around the circle, but worked in stranded floss instead of wool.
DeleteVery pretty! It sounds like many of us have been working with rayon threads this week.
ReplyDeleteDon't you think rayon has a bit of personality? You can't really control it, and it can be frustrating to work with. However, the result is usually shiny, stylish and nice!
Deletegood to see you back stitching Queenie
ReplyDeleteYes, it is good to be back on track.
DeleteYour couching is a great combo with the triangular buttonhole stitch.
ReplyDeleteCouching was an early TAST 'stitch' and I have been wondering for a long time where to add it to the cushion. I think I found a good place!
