For my part:
Kafferepet
I worked on the block with the candle and matchbox.
Stitch: TAST #59 Breton Stitch.
Thread: Silky by De Haviland Embroidery
Swedish Cushion
Most of my progoress was on making up a design for the second half of the cushion. The only needlework I did was a small area of TAST #51 Raised Herringbone Band
Excuse the awful photo, bleak, shaky...
Extra Work
I also spent some time this last week working two birthdays cards:
Did you spot TAST #99 Eastern Stitch?
Lovely cards! Your Portuguese knotted stem stitch looks very beautiful and neat.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anita. You look very closely at the stitches and can identify them!
DeleteLove to see your wonderful needlework in this beautiful color combinations.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Erika
Thank you, Erika.
DeleteLove the Eastern stitch on your birthday card, it makes a beautiful bow!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to use the Eastern stitch for free form embroidery, but actually I prefer when they are worked in a row, especially with beads, like I did on the sampler.
DeleteYour projects are looking good

I just love that little box of matches and you have done so much! The cards are great.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The Swedish safety matches have a long history and I love the design for this box, Solstickan.
DeleteThe birthday cards are so creative! I'm sure the recipients love them. Great progress on your big projects!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to make use of the Eastern Stitch for the cards, but think it would have been better with beads - but then it is hard to put in an envelope and send by post!
Deletethe cards are Beautiful. I like the way you have worked out the candle. waiting for the completed swedish cushion.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The cushion will take a lot more time before it is completed.
Deleteyour WIP is coming along well Queenie. The posy of flowers is very pretty, a lovely card, no I have not tried the eastern stitch yet but like what you have done with it
ReplyDeleteDo try the Eastern Stitch!
DeleteQueenie, Another great design!! Your little grey cells must be working full tilt! I too, like Eastern stitch worked en masse instead of standing out like lonely Daffodil!

I love looking at blogs to see how each TAST stitch has been used. There are so many ways that I would never have thought of myself.
DeleteBeautiful work on your cushion, I like how you have work one stitch over another. The two cards are lovely, all the colours are beautiful and the choice of stitches are just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan.
DeleteAmong the TAST stitches we have learned so far, there are a few combined ones. This band is really nice, isn't it?
gorgeous stitching!
ReplyDeleteIt is always such a pleasure to get praise from you, Angela.
DeleteI think I need to have a birthday the last day of every month.
ReplyDeleteYour work is always something to be admired.
Ha, ha! It has become an annual tradition to embroider cards for certain birthdays.
DeleteBeautiful, I like the birthday cards very much!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miriam.
DeleteSuch pretty bunches of flowers.
ReplyDeleteYesterday we had some spring like weather but today it is back to cold wintery rain. Unlike many in the UK I can't see any snowdrops, daffodils or other spring flowers so I had to embroider some!
DeleteHi Queenie, I am loving what you have done here.......There are certainly some lovely stitch combinations ! I may borrow some of your ideas . Just noticed some crocuses popping up in my garden this week Have a very happy Sunday Queenie.....xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Chris!
DeleteThank you for your kind words and I feel very honoured that you would consider borrowing any of MY ideas! Oh, I do miss your TAST Mandalas! At the moment I have no time to make a proper TAST project for each stitch but really like adding them to the quilt and the cushion.
To cold and wet for comfort here in Tokyo. Spring, where are you?
Happy stitching!
Lovely to see all your different works and different stitches. The candle is super and the Breton stitch on the sides are great and are prooving great patience.
ReplyDeleteI had this De Haviland thread that is so silky and nice. It shone like copper and would reflect the candle stick, I thought.
