TAST #88 - Buttonhole Picot, version 2 (with Chain stitches)

Here is the second version of Buttonhole Picot, TAST stitch #88, which is worked with Chain stitches made in the air. Needle crochetting?

Compared with the blue picots (version 1 made with Bullion Knots) that you can see at the top, the yellow and red picots are spheric.
They were easier to make and I find them more even in size and shape.
However, I think the Bullion version has an interesting form and are a bit more 'unique'. These yellow and red bundles of Chain stitches could be taken for French Knots, couldn't they? My private musings...

    both stitches have worked well Queenie and are decorative, must have a go before the next one is posted.

      They can be improved!
      I wonder what difference it would make to work them on an edge, as they are supposed to be? Something to put on the list...

    Nice stitching Queenie, I have not done these stitches before and I like them both, they give an extra dimension to what would be an ordinary stitch!

      Yes, isn't it interesting how many variations there can be on one basic stitch. So far we have done 15 stitches with Buttonhole in the name, and even more with Buttonhole as a base stitch. I am sure Sharon will present us with many more!
