Dates for Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival 2014

The dates for Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival 2014 next January in Tokyo Dome have now been announced.

There will be a lot of Scandinavian flavour this time. Should you visit, don't forget to see the Swedish Antique Wool Embroidery from Kulturen in Lund.

The numbers of the Partnership Charity quilts have not been announced yet but as soon as I know into which quilt my Olive Branch has been added I will let you know.

      I am glad to hear that, Marti.
      I think the reason why NHK take such a time to announce the dates is that they want to have their programme fixed and the online poster made.

    Thank you for posting the Quilt Show information. I hope to be able to attend. Do you take it in in a day, or do you attend multiple days? I'm guessing the weekend days are very crowded. Do you think earlier is better than later in the show's week (Thursday or Friday vs. Monday or Tuesday? If we go to Tokyo, I'd like to go to the zoo and see the pandas in addition to the show.

      In my opinion it is impossible to see all quilts and exhibitions in one day - even if you stayed all day. The crowds are unbelievable (see photos from last time at: http://queeniepatch.blogspot.jp/2013/01/tokyo-international-great-quilt.html)!!! EVERY day is crowded, but it thins out towards the end of the afternoons.
      Ueno Zoo is not too far from Tokyo Dome. I would recommend having two days in Tokyo. How about 1 1/2 day at the quilt show, and 1/2 day at the zoo?

      Thanks! We're trying to figure out how to best take a few days to see the quilt show, the giant pandas, and our friends in Yokohama. Getting to Tokyo from our little town takes some doing.
